On this particular project, I had to design an app of my choice. The app I designed was called Radioactive that is a music app. While thinking about the features, competition, different genres, design, and account characteristics of my particular app I used the method of the mind map to organize and explain my ideas.
The Pixar Pitch is a very important method to explain a new story idea. In this example, I designed my story about Cleo a fish who lives in the East Blue Ocean. She was made as the main character who is one of four fish daughters of King in the East Blue. Cleo swam further each and every day from home with a dream to travel to Passion; a sea land that revealed ancestor and the future.
Sketches and doodles are rough interpretations of a specific idea you have inside your head. The organization and perfection of detail is not very important at this stage of design. In this project example, I took an airplane seat and redesigned this object to be more comfortable, adjustable, etc.
The design of landscaping is very important and very critical to the perspective in which the viewers see the image. I recreated the city of Tempe in Arizona in a one-point perspective from my perspective of environment and surrounding buildings. I used the tallest building to attract my viewers to follow the road to a vanishing point which creates distance and mystery.
Architecture and landscaping are difficult concept to grasp and immediately understand. In the design process when drawing a blind sketch of something detail is not important yet until the basic shapes and lines are drawn. This is an example of a rough and quick sketch in my sketchbook of mountains on a sunny day in Payson, AZ while hiking. During the 5-minute break in the hike, I drew an outline of the scenery in front of me without looking at the page and focused on lines and shapes.
