As a freshman in college at Arizona State University studying Graphic Information Technology, I got the opportunity to experience digital art and the process of using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create and design my creative ideas. These are two examples of my very first art pieces I made in Adobe Illustrator.
In GIT 210 I was introduced to the concepts and details of the color wheel. In the lecture given by the Professor, we immediately learned about tint, shade, and hues. These detailed descriptions are aligned with the different colors in the color wheel and their uses during the design process. In this piece, I designed a simple picture using monochromatic color schemes with a butterfly template on Adobe Illustrator.
Designing personal brands and logos has always been a personal favorite whenever it comes to graphic design. On my free time I create business cards, advertisement pages, and more on Pledge. Pledge is a new brand I have designed over the last 3 years and after learning about marketing advertisement, the color wheel, and logos I decided to make those ideas reality.
In Adobe Photoshop I made an advertisement cover for Walt Disney World. I put together different characters into one image to practice photo manipulation, color correction, and layer management. I chose these fonts specifically because I wanted my typography to create a fun and creative atmosphere and emotion to the audience. I think this advertisement would be published on social media platforms like Instagram or printed for flyers.
In my freshman year of college at ASU, I was introduced to many new programs like Adobe Photoshop. The image below is one of many examples of my first attempt at using the new program and experimenting with the tools. My intentions were to manipulate an image to create a camera or telescope looking perspective with a slight shadow tint and brighten the main focus of the image which was Mickey Mouse.
As I got more comfortable using Adobe Photoshop to design digital artwork, I decided to create another advertisement poster for the UFO Tour (an event I made up) featuring different artists like SZA, and Lil Uzi Vert. I used the colors in the image because I wanted an outer space themed poster giving energy and excitement to the young teenager audience that would most likely be interested in this event. I used the shape tool, the text tool, blend manipulation, multiple layers, and more to create this piece. This project approximately took me 2 weeks to complete and perfect to my ability.
